Meridian Deep is the vent specialist. Twelve hours of life support and a low-drag hull let it hold station over a black smoker long enough to map it, film it, and sample fluids at 350°C without cooking a seal.
Five viewports and a full sensor mast make it as much a mobile observatory as a submersible.
